Description
Pool Rope is a polypropylene product – usually blue and white, used to create lanes, often threaded through plastic floats to make the lanes more visible. It’s also used to divide swimming areas – for example, to identify deep water from shallow – in pools as well as in natural bodies of water.
Polypropylene is used here because, unlike nylon of polyester, it floats. While hollow braid is sometimes used, especially in smaller sizes, the most popular products are 1/2″ and 3/4″ twisted polypro with two white strands and one blue strand.
Versatile, high-value, and virtually indestructible, this pool rope floats on the waterline all on its own, and can easily be strung with floats for added visibility and security. Resistant to all kinds of wear and tear, this high-grade polypropylene twisted rope is great for many other marine applications, too. It is highly resistant to moisture, UV radiation from the sun, and most chemical degradation. This makes it the ideal rope for outdoor, water-bound uses, including chlorinated home and public polls. Made from three separate poly strands, it's also easy to splice together rope lengths to ensure you always have enough unbroken line to suit any purpose.
